Save The Rainforest : Removed from business register October 7th 2009

For a company that claimed to preserve the rainforest in perpetuity, they sure didn't last long. A quick check of the Office of Fair Trading website shows the company began trading on July 5th 2006 and veased on October 7th 2009, two years to the day after they sold their preservation certificate to Five Four Clothing.

The sales office is now a convenience store, the website has been removed from the web and none of their contact numbers work. So exactly who do preservation certificate investors turn to now?

Besides that, a number of other questions arise:

• Why was Save The Rainforest registered in Australia when it carried out its operations in Bali?
• Where did the proceeds from selling Preservation Certificates go?
• Was Save The Rainforestregistered with the Indonesian Business Regulators?
• Did Save The Rainforest declare its earnings to the Indonesian Tax Authorities?
• What happened to the assets of the business (the rainforest) when the company ceased trading?
• Who's hands is the land in now? Has it been developed?
